Jessica Russell is an adult educator and freelance writer. Her work has featured in a range of publications, from the Times Educational Supplement to the Racing Post. She has written the family approved, prize shortlisted biography of Louise Little, the mother of American civil rights leader Malcolm X. In 2019 she co-founded Disability Civility which exists with one aim, to improve the everyday interactions between the disabled and non-disabled communities through allyship training. She identifies as neurodivergent and tries to check her white privilege daily.
