The questions that we address with this training are:
What is diversity and inclusion? Very often organisations focus on our diversity (i.e. which boxes we tick) and what makes us different rather than inclusion and how we can create a sense of belonging in the organisation.
Why is a culture of belonging and inclusion important? Training participants reflect on why it's important to create a sense of belonging for your organisation in order to future proof your growth and success.
What are some of the basic diversity and inclusion terms that I need to be aware of in order to unleash my team's talents? In a supportive training environment we identify four different types of behaviour that can cause exclusion including unconscious bias, norms, privilege and microaggressions.
What are some simple actions or nudges that I can take back to my team to boost their performance and develop a culture of belonging and inclusion? Every participant leaves with a simple inclusion nudges action plan that they can discuss with their team to enable them to create a more inclusive working environment going forwards.

Brainstorm examples of exclusion (and beyond the nine protected characteristics within the Equality Act) and difficulties this causes individuals and teams.
Introduction to terminology and why we should be aware of them for creating an inclusive culture:
Unconscious bias (a brief introduction to unconscious bias, implications of bias in decision-making, introduction to the NeuroLeadership Institute's SEEDS model)
Privilege (and we will show this video)
Norms (those that we want to preserve and those that we want to challenge)
Microaggressions. Microaggressions are everyday slights and indignities some people encounter all the time - while others aren’t even aware they’re committing them.
For each of the above terms attendees will be asked to think of simple actions/nudges they can take away using the If This Then That (ITTT) formula. Each attendee will leave the workshop with a personal action plan.
A discussion on why a culture of inclusion and belonging is important for future proofing your organisation.
All attendees receive a professionally produced IFTTT inclusion nudges action plan.
Why is this approach necessary?
This training has been designed to address some of the challenges above. Namely:
Diversity includes everybody and everyone has a role in creating a more inclusive work environment at your organisation
You raise awareness of the four common behaviours that create exclusive/siloed work cultures. Everybody understands and has a common language to then 'call out' these after the training.
This training is very interactive and conversational which allows participants to apply inclusive behaviours to their day-to-day work and relationships with their team
After the workshop
You could proceed as follows:
Running of the two hour “diversity includes everybody” training session for up to 54 participants per session.
Within this training we introduce unconscious bias and you could consider rolling out our in-depth unconscious bias training.
